IT Administrator & Data Processor


Focus Mailing is a mailing and fulfillment warehouse located in Danbury, CT. We are looking for an experienced IT Administrator and Data Processor to assist in the maintenance and support of Focus Mailing’s IT infrastructure as well as process address lists in compliance with USPS rules and regulations. The workplace is a production environment requiring employees to be resourceful, hands-on, and willing to take on a diverse range of responsibilities outside of those associated with traditional technical roles. Diverse responsibilities include but are not limited to clerical, customer service/relations, project management and planning, as well as variable data printing. Candidates must be able to manage time, prioritize tasks, and complete projects where accuracy, quality, and meeting deadlines are paramount.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/equivalent or 4+ years’ work experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Server 2012 environment
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven workplace
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of network security, administration and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of SQL Server or comparable DBMS
  • Must be able to work extended hours on short or no notice


  • Knowledge of USPS regulations and complementing software packages(BCC Mail Manager, Windowbook Dat-Mail, Virtual Systems Mail-Shop)
  • Knowledge of digital design and variable data merge software packages like Objectif Lune Planet Press
  • Knowledge of variable data laser printing
  • Proficiency in administering and maintaining a VOIP phone system
  • Proficiency in administering and maintaining a Dell firewall appliance
  • MySQL database administration and development including phpmyadmin
  • Virtual/Managed private Linux server administration

Position Roles:

  • Process and prepare data to be used in production of mail in accordance with USPS rules and regulations
  • Provide solutions and recommendations to stakeholders drawing on knowledge and experience of/with technical, production, USPS, FedEx, and UPS systems
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders for the purpose of meeting goals and deadlines
  • Effectively allocate effort and resources to ensure timely completion of multiple projects in a production environment
  • Catalog and procure office consumables ex. toner, MFD staples, paper, and label stocks etc
  • Implement, maintain, support, and upgrade company-wide hardware and software systems such as:
    • Windows Server 2012
    • SQL Server
    • Cisco-based local area network
    • Windows PC client workstations
    • VOIP phone system
    • Network printers/multifunction devices
